Readers Get "Library Champion" Yard Signs for Completing Summer Reading Program
Library Champions recognized on Jefferson Parish Library website

Readers who completed the Summer Reading Program at Jefferson Parish Library this year are able to show everyone they are Library Champions. The Jefferson Parish Library awarded a yard sign that reads “A Jefferson Parish Library Champion Lives Here” to each summer reader who finished the required number of books.

Library Champion Sign
Summer Readers who complete the program get a "Library Champion" sign.

The 18” x 24” sign can be easily placed outside of homes in front yards, or displayed in other spots around the house, recognizing the accomplishment of completing the Jefferson Parish Library Summer Reading Program.

Wherever Library Champions decided to place their signs, they were encouraged to take a picture of themselves next to the sign and email it to Jefferson Parish Library for our website. We have a special place on our site dedicated to showing all the Library Champions of this year’s Summer Reading Program.

To get a sign, children 12 and under read 10 easy books (fewer than 100 pages) or 5 challenge books (more than 100 pages), and teens read 5 books or completed a BINGO card with library activities. Readers who met these goals were also entered into a raffle to win more prizes.

The Summer Reading Program ran from June 1 - July 31.

Library Champions can still email pictures as attachments to Jefferson Parish Library at srp@jefferson.lib.la.us.
