obituary on-line database search

            The Jefferson Parish Library has compiled a database of Obituary Notices from the Times-Picayune for the period of January, 1972 through 1978. Every effort has been made to be as complete as possible. The database contains over 70,000 entries and is periodically updated from 1978 on.

            The Times-Picayune newspapers can be viewed on microfilm at East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie, LA 70001. Self-service copies can be made at the Library for 15 cents per page.
